Definition

(a.) Without inclination or dipping; -- said the magnetic needle balances itself horizontally, having no dip. The aclinic line is also termed the magnetic equator.

adj. without inclination applied to the magnetic equator which cuts the terrestrial equator inasmuch as on that line the magnetic needle has no dip but lies horizontal.
